All events on the 4t of July are fundraisers for non-profit groups. All the games are run by companies and people donating their time. All T-shirt work, park prep and clean up (Thank you Paul at the Recycle center for providing the trash cans and removing the trash) are done by volunteers so please thank everyone for donating their 4th for YOU!! AND the 4th of July committee says THANK YOU!!

Gustavus Open House Tour -- Be CURIOUS!

On Saturday May 31st, the Gustavus Visitor's Association is hosting an Open House Tour. Be curious about your community and have a lookiloo at Inn's, B & B's, vacation homes and stores. Look for fliers around town and pick up a map. Tour hours are from 10 - 3 with some businesses opening later. See you on the tour!

10th Annual Ladies Golf Tournament - June 21st

The Gustavus Public Library Presents the 10th Annual Ladies Golf Tournament

The tournament will take place at 10 am on Saturday the 21st of June at the Mt. Fairweather Golf Course.

$50.00 per person includes green fee, dinner, and refreshments.
Teams will be drawn as random groupings the day of the event.

Bring a funky prize to swap at the awards dinner.

All Proceeds Support the Gustavus Public Library.

Experience the Glacier Bay Ferry!

The Glacier Bay Ferry will transport passengers from Bartlett Cove inside Glacier Bay National Park, to Auke Bay, located approximately ten miles from the Juneau airport.

The ferry service operates: Fridays & Sundays (June 6th to September 2nd, 2008)
Depart Bartlett Cove (Glacier Bay) at 4pm
Arrive at Auke Bay (Juneau) at 7pm
Depart Auke Bay at 7:30pm
Arrive Bartlett Cove at 10:30pm

Conveniently timed for passengers departing Juneau on Alaska Airlines scheduled services, the Glacier Bay Ferry allows ample time to reach the airport for transportation home. Also allows for passengers coming off the daily Glacier Bay Tour ample time to catch the ferry prior to departing.

Price: Adult $75.22 one-way; Child (3-12 years) $37.61 one-way

Gustavus Visitor's Association Membership Meeting

A membership meeting will be held Monday, May 12th at the Gustavus Library at 10 AM. A teleconference invitation will be emailed to members the day before so everyone can "attend".

PR companies will be presenting their ideas for a Marketing Campaign for Gustavus. Come to the meeting if you want to hear their plans.
